grateful

I took myself on a date tonight

slipped on my silky dress that makes me feel beautiful and elegant

turned on my speaker and danced around my apartment

to slow jazz music

pretended I was in a fancy bar in some faraway city during another time.

I ate creamy potatoes right out of the pot off of a wooden spoon because I could

and said to myself

I am so lucky to have this life.
